Description[edit | edit source]
While the first rank can be purchased immediately for 10 points, the second rank of Quality Joe requires you to reach Level 30 in Scavenging. For example, if you search a duffle bag and find a machete, it may normally have a quality of 100. At Rank 1 of Quality Joe, the machete would have a quality of 125. At Rank 3, the machete would be 200. Welcome to the 7 Days to Die Gameplay / Let's Play Alpha 13 (S13) Series. The Fun Pimps are very proud to announce Alpha 13 Apocalypse Release is out and ready for consumption. Unless you‘ve been living under a rock you’ve probably heard this is one big mother lode of content!
- 7 Days To Die Review. My first experience of 7 Days to Die had me desperately searching for supplies, whilst my character suffered from stage 2 heatstroke. It seemed the major threat of the apocalypse wasn’t the ravenous hordes of zombies, but rather my character’s inability to walk 100ft without developing a breathing problem.
- Quality Joe has 3 ranks that raise the general quality (but not rarity). Browse other questions tagged 7-days-to-die or ask your own question. Featured on Meta CEO Blog: Some exciting news about fundraising. Thank you, Geoff. Screenshot of the Week Contest #19 - Space Exploration.
- At level 10 I maxed out Quality Joe (lvl 3). No issues, it remained after relogging etc. However at level 22 of scavenger every single container I looted was empty EXCEPT for toilets, which had murky water and turds. This remained the case at level 23 but at level 24 items returned and everything had stuff again.
Quality is a value which represents the crafted level of a tool, weapon, or armor. Do not confuse this with Tool & Weapon Tiers, which separate items generally by the materials used in their construction. Different item icon = different Tier. Different color = different Quality. Quality values are applied within Tiers, and it is possible for a high-quality weapon or tool to have better stats (especially when Mods are considered) than a higher-tier item.
Summary Chart[edit | edit source]
Item quality is indicated by both a color-code for quick reference and a numerical value as a precise measure of quality, displayed beneath the item's icon in the Inventory. Note that with the exception of Tier-0 (generally stone/primitive) items, Quality levels do not provide fixed improvements to the item's stats. That is, two different Q5 Iron Fireaxes might have slightly different base stat values, meaning you should compare items you find with what you have even if the Quality level is identical.
Color | Quality | Mod Slots |
---|---|---|
Tan | 1 | 1 |
Orange | 2 | 1 |
Olive | 3 | 2 |
Green | 4 | 2 |
Blue | 5 | 3 |
Magenta | 6 | 4 |
Effects of Quality[edit | edit source]
An item's quality determines the following item stats.
- Max Durability of Weapons, Tools, and Armors
- Number of Mods allowed to be placed on Weapons, Tools, and Armors
- Melee Damage, Power Attack Damage, Block Damage, Stamina Cost, and Attacks/Minute for Tools and Melee Weapons
- Ranged Damage, Magazine Size, Rounds/Minute, and Effective Range for ranged Weapons
- Armor Rating and Explosion Resistance for Armor
Notes[edit | edit source]
- It is not guaranteed that a higher-quality item will have better stats than a lower-quality item; you will need to compare items before deciding whether to swap
- It is usually worth it to take a Q3, Q5, or Q6 item over a lower-quality item due to the additional mod slot(s), if you have mods available to apply to the item. For Weapons and Tools, every mod will add bonus damage which can make up for possibly lower base stats.
- The quality of looted items depends on the gamestage of the player, possibly modified by perks or Lucky Goggles.
- Players can only craft up to Quality 5 items. Quality 6 items can only be attained by looting or buying them. (As of Alpha 19)
